An Elegant Autumn Wedding at Snake River Sporting Club

Autumn at Snake River Sporting Club is the kind of season that reminds me why I love photographing destination weddings in Jackson Hole. Crisp mountain air, cottonwoods glowing in shades of gold, and the first hint of snow on the surrounding peaks create a backdrop that feels both refined and wonderfully wild. For couples planning a wedding weekend that celebrates not only their love but also the people they’ve gathered together, it’s difficult to imagine a more fitting place.

I’m thrilled to share a celebration I captured that embraced everything I love about a thoughtfully planned wedding weekend. Every event felt intentional, allowing guests to experience the beauty of Jackson Hole while giving the couple meaningful time with their closest family and friends. From an unforgettable welcome party high above the valley to a lively dance floor that carried well into the evening, every moment reflected the same care and attention that had gone into planning the weekend itself.

Hi, I’m Roslyn. As a Jackson Hole wedding photographer, I always believe the most meaningful galleries come from celebrations where couples are fully present. When every detail is thoughtfully planned, it creates space for genuine emotion, connected moments, and photographs that preserve the feeling of the weekend for generations.

Setting the Tone with a Welcome Party at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s Rendezvous Lodge

The wedding festivities began in one of the most memorable locations in Jackson Hole — Rendezvous Lodge, perched atop Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Guests boarded the iconic aerial tram in Teton Village and were treated to panoramic views that stretched across the Tetons as they made their way to the mountaintop celebration.

An Unforgettable Welcome

The evening was truly unforgettable. The welcome party felt relaxed, complete with local cuisine, handcrafted beverages, and incredible sunset views. It was the perfect way to set an elevated tone for the weekend ahead.

Why I Love Wedding Weekend Welcome Parties

One of my favorite things about multi-day celebrations is how naturally they allow relationships to unfold. By the wedding morning, everyone has already shared conversations, meals, and memories together. That comfort always translates into more authentic photographs throughout the weekend.

If you’re beginning to organize your own destination celebration, my Jackson Hole Wedding Checklist can help you stay organized from your first planning decisions through your wedding weekend.

Getting Ready Moments and First Looks

Wedding mornings always carry a unique kind of excitement. There’s an energy that’s both calm and anticipatory, especially when every detail has already fallen into place.

The Bride’s Morning

The bride spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids while soft autumn light poured through the windows. Every thoughtful detail, from heirloom jewelry to her elegant bouquet, reflected the refined style woven throughout the entire weekend.

The Groom’s Morning

Meanwhile, the groom enjoyed a relaxed morning with his groomsmen before stepping outside for one of my favorite parts of any wedding day: the first look.

A Meaningful First Look

These private moments allow couples to pause together before the celebration begins. Away from timelines and guests, they’re able to be present with one another. The emotion is always genuine, and it creates beautiful, heartfelt photographs before the day begins unfolding at a faster pace.

Those quiet moments together naturally prepared them for the meaningful ceremony that awaited.

A Catholic Wedding Ceremony at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church

The ceremony took place at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, one of Jackson Hole’s most beautiful churches for couples planning a traditional Catholic wedding.

The timeless architecture created an elegant setting while allowing the focus to remain exactly where it belonged — on the sacrament itself.

As guests filled the pews, anticipation built until the bride made her way down the aisle. The ceremony was filled with meaningful traditions, heartfelt prayers, and joyful smiles shared between family members.

Following the ceremony, everyone stepped outside beneath brilliant blue autumn skies to celebrate the newlyweds before making their way toward the evening wedding festivities at Snake River Sporting Club.

For couples considering a destination wedding in the Tetons, my Grand Teton Wedding Planning: Ceremony Locations, Permits, and Photography Tips guide is a helpful resource for navigating both church ceremonies and outdoor celebrations.

Cocktail Hour on the Lawn of Snake River Sporting Club

Cocktail hour offered guests an opportunity to fully enjoy the beauty of Snake River Sporting Club before dinner began.

The Perfect Setting

With mountain views stretching across the property, guests gathered on the lawn while enjoying:

  • Signature cocktails
  • Passed hors d’oeuvres
  • Conversations that had been building throughout the weekend

Live music added just enough energy without overwhelming the relaxed atmosphere. Friends reconnected, family members laughed together, and everyone enjoyed the crisp fall weather before moving into the reception tent.

Tented Reception Reveal + The Moments Guests Will Remember for a Lifetime

Walking into the reception tent felt like stepping into an entirely different world.

Soft candlelight, elegant floral arrangements in seasonal autumn tones, layered textures, and carefully designed tablescapes transformed the tent into an unforgettable dining experience. Every detail reflected the couple’s refined vision while still feeling warm and inviting.

Throughout the evening, the thoughtful design never competed with the celebration itself. Instead, it created a beautiful setting where relationships remained at the center of every moment.

As dinner concluded and the sun began slipping behind the mountains, the couple stole away for one final moment together.

Sneaking Away for Golden Hour Portraits and a Private Moment Together

Golden hour in Jackson Hole never disappoints, especially during autumn.

The surrounding hills glowed with warm amber light while the mountains faded into soft layers behind them. It created the perfect opportunity to quietly step away from the reception for a few uninterrupted minutes together.

Why I Always Encourage Adding a Golden Hour Private Moment to Your Reception Timeline

These portraits are never just about creating beautiful photographs. They’re often the first chance couples have to slow down, reflect on everything that’s happened, and enjoy being newly married before returning to celebrate with everyone they love.

During these few quiet minutes, couples can:

  1. Take in the day together. After months of planning, it’s often the first chance to pause and realize they’re finally married.
  2. Share an uninterrupted conversation. Away from timeline constraints and guests, they can enjoy each other’s company without distractions.
  3. Create some of the most meaningful photographs of the day. The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful evening light naturally allow genuine emotion to shine through.

The peaceful landscape surrounding Snake River Sporting Club offered countless beautiful backdrops for wedding portraits without ever needing to venture far from the reception. Those few minutes became some of the most meaningful images from the entire weekend.

Before long, music from the reception began calling everyone back inside.

Ending the Night with an Epic Dance Party

Once the dance floor opened, the energy shifted in the best possible way. Guests filled the floor from the very first song and rarely left for the rest of the evening. Friends danced shoulder to shoulder, parents joined their children, and every generation celebrated together beneath the glow of the reception tent.

One of the things I love most about destination weddings is how fully guests embrace the experience. Having traveled to celebrate together, everyone is invested in making every moment count. That joy becomes contagious, creating the kind of celebration people remember for decades.

For couples planning a destination wedding, building an intentional weekend schedule allows everyone to fully experience Jackson Hole together. My Wedding Weekend Itinerary: What to Do in Jackson Hole Before, During & After the Big Day offers plenty of ideas for creating that same unforgettable guest experience.

A Snake River Sporting Club Wedding Filled with Heart

Some weddings are beautiful because of their design. Others are unforgettable because of the people. This celebration at Snake River Sporting Club was both. Every event throughout the weekend reflected genuine hospitality, meaningful relationships, and a deep appreciation for the incredible place they had chosen to celebrate.

Photographing weddings like this is always an honor because they become part of a family’s legacy, preserved through imagery that allows future generations to experience not only how everything looked, but how it felt.
